Descriptions of Kanye West’s wheelchair incident say it started when he told the crowd the best way way to enjoy his show was to stand up.
“I can’t do this show until everybody stand up,” he said. “Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s**t.”
This announcement was apparently met with some awkward silence due to the bad joke. Some reports claimed that West went after a wheelchair bound individual and a person in the crowd started waving a prosthetic leg in the air to explain why he was sitting. But the above video does seem to prove that Kanye did not attack the disabled person, although he did say, “If he’s in a wheelchair, it’s fine.”
Kanye West has since taken the media to task for how the wheelchair incident was portrayed, and he specifically called out Matt Lauer by name.
